Our Mission
The Central Academy Alumni Network was established to foster support for the continued excellence in education at the Academy. The Network will serve as a vehicle for fundraising activities, alumni networking, and volunteer efforts to enable the continued success of the Academy.
Our History
Central Academy was founded in 1985 to foster an advanced learning environment for students around Central Iowa. After humble beginnings, the program has grown into the top advanced placement program in the state and is nationally recognized for its academic achievements. The Central Academy Alumni Network was conceived in the early 2010s by David & Dan Gross to ensure the continued success of the program and to reconnect all prior classes. Central Academy students participate in many activities during the school year, including Academic Decathalon, Math competitions, Rotary Interact, Central Fashion Show, dances, hosting students from other countries, TedX Des Moines, and much more.
